FLEA AND TICK SEASON!Just a reminder everyone! Warmer weather means the bugs come out to play. We already had news of a dog or two having a tick. This isn't uncommon for our woods dwelling four legged friends however, don't count yourself out if living in an urban or suburban area. Being that our whole concept is based on being outdoors, we encourage everyone to use flea and tick preventative (more then just a collar is preferred). Make sure you do not bathe your dog 2 days before or 2 days after applying topical treatments and resist petting them until dry. It's also a good idea, for your frequent woods trip dog(s) to talk to your vet about a Lyme disease vaccination.
I found this great website that has lots of info on Lyme disease in dogs and even in people. Check it out. ThePetCenter.com Yay for warm weather! Maxine Posted on 08 Mar 2009 by Maxine
